History
Mat Rayy joined the JWF in scary fashion, scary for him anyway. His debut match was against Screwball and thanks to the Spin The Wheel tournament's rules, it was a First Blood match. He soon teamed up with his good friend Robb Finney to form arguably the most impressive tag team the JWF has every seen, The CarneyBoyz.
Watching this young star you can see his improvement match by match. The Carnyez soon got quite a following as they entered a feud with Weird Science. This hungry young Tag Team just never seemed to be able to seal the deal and raise the tag belts, although they were never defeated in a straight 2 on 2 match. They finally managed to beat The Revolution Of Laughter for the tag belts at BattleBowl 06. Later that night Mat went on to also win the BattleBowl match, and in doing so earned himself a shot at the big prize. Despite Rob's appeal, Mat chose to take on Pete Vicious for the JWF World Title at Home Is Where the Hurt Is, rather than defend the tag belts.
As Home Is rolled around, it seemed no-one could stand up to "The Future" however the experience on the mat of Pete Vicious stopped Mat's winning ways as he was forced to tap out.
Since then Mat went on to have problems with his tag partner Rob Finney even to he extent that when Mat was late for a show. Finney found a replacement to defend the Tag titles with, an unsuccessful defence as it turned out, as the man Rob chose to replace Mat with Iscariot Nuggs, and was pinned by the Hellbillies. Losing the tag titles and enraging Mat Rayy, who destroyed Nugs with the banned move, the KopKiller. This led to a match the following month between Mat and Rob, which Mat lost, due to Edd Logan's interference at ringside. Rather than join Logan in beating down on Mat after the match though, Rob and Nugs took out Edd Logan, and sent him packing, before publicly solving the differences between them, and pledging their support to Mat in his pursuit of "The Gay Icon's" European Gold. |
