The time of the year had rolled around where the House of Pain match returned to the JWF. The match was set to main event the card and it did not disappoint.
The showed kicked off with AMD set to square off against one member of the Revolution of Laughter, Psyclown. The clown came out dressed in a shirt and tie as he attempted to be the new Mr. Jim for the event, but that wasn’t all from the clown. Before the event Psyclown wheeled a giant white box with a big red question mark on the side to the ring. The crowd started a huge chant asking what was in the box all intrigued. Psyclown quietened everyone down and started to wind and imaginary lever much like a jack in a box and out popped what appeared to be a female clown. No one is quite sure who this is or why they are here. Maybe Psyclown with be able to explain all a Domestic Violence. AMD clearly wasn’t impressed with Psyclown and the new his latest surprise, attacking him with plenty of aggression as soon as he step foot into the ring. AMD appeared to have full control of the match, using his arrogance and cockiness to his advantage as he worked over Psyclown and the match seemed pretty one way, but Psyclown wasn’t going to give up without a fight today and kept coming back for more, even getting the upper hand on “The Superstar” to the point where he tricked his way into nailing the Big Top Drop and claiming the pinfall and the first victory for the clown in a while.
The show started at quite a pace and this seemed to follow into the following match up where tow newcomers Rob Cove and the self proclaimed “Human Highlight Reel” Djinn were set to square off with Lycan in a Triple Threat Match. With Lycan being the most experienced he naturally took the reigns and showed the new guys how things get done in the JWF. The match went in swings and roundabouts with people being thrown in and out of the ring trying to claim the pinfall. Djinn showed why he calls himself the “Human Highlight Reel” when he climbed to the top and went for the Phoenix Splash. There was nobody home though and Rob Cove took full advantage of the situation, finishing Djinn off with the Covert from the top rope and securing the win. As the triumphant Rob Cove left The Massive dashed to the ring, again attacking Djinn as he lay beaten and putting him through a table with and impressive ‘Dream Street Powerbomb’ combination. As if that wasn’t enough for the new guy, as he lay motionless in the middle of the ring a dark voice echoed throughout the church hall. A deep dark voice that made comments sounding like the torture wasn’t over for Djinn. Was this another one of The Massive’s mind games or does someone else have something in store for Djinn. We’re hoping for some answers on the 15th November at Domestic Violence.
Will N. Courage made his in ring return this month after taking some time out for training. The improved wrestler was up against Rage in singles competition. It seemed like Rage was out to show that if his friend Psyclown can win then he can too as he brought his “unique” style of wrestling to the ring, even trying to tickle Will into submission. This didn’t work and we saw Will pull the match in his favour, landing with his trademark Standing Moonsault. It wasn’t quite enough to get the 3 count over Rage though and the match continued until Rage (somehow) snuck the win in, giving both the clowns a win for a day a jubilant victory between the two.
Jubilance wasn’t set to be the centre of the next match as NeXus squared off with the monster Karn. I had to wonder if NeXuS was going into this match with a clear head and his mind focused on the victory, as at the start of the show “The Beautiful Nightmare” Megan Skye came to the ring and called NeXuS an “old timer” who needed to “hang up the boots”. I wondered if this was going to cause NeXuS to try for the win too hard and effectively cost himself the match.
Karn came to ring assisted by Megan Skye and entered into a match that proved to be gruelling as the Devil and the Monster collided. It was NeXuS who proved to be on form though with a pinfall victory over Karn, making him the second ever person to pin the monster to the mat long enough for the win.
Former Tag Team Champions The Reality were set to try and get back on top of the Tag division with a number one contenders match against The Massive. Bill Dozer, the old acquaintance of Shredd seemed to have a point to prove to the leader of The Reality as he gunned for him from the start, taking his aggression out on Mr. Jim in what seemed like a provoking way to get Shredd into the ring. The referee had full control on the match which worked in The Massive’s favour as they cheated their way through the match. Shredd and Mr. Jim showed they were still ready to bring the gold back to The Reality, and I thought the match was over when Shredd slammed The Hand onto Bill Dozer, but he was ahead of the game and reversed the attempt into the Criminal Damage. Shredd refused to tap and passed out, unable to keep his hand raised when the ref checked him and The Massive moved forward towards the Tag Team Titles. Since Dan Dryland has been absent from the team, The Reality appears to have slumped into a losing streak. What must this be doing to his psyche as he could only watch from ringside as his friends continue to lose, and is there a weak link in The Reality, or does it need Dryland to hold it all together?
Last month I noticed T-Block was not at the Violent Reaction. Questions were heard in the back room as to his whereabouts, and at the start of the show he addressed the crowd with his reasons for not being available. T-Block was attacked not long after Pier Pressure and advised by Doctors and JWF Management not to wrestle at Violent Reaction. I learned that it was “The Golden One” Lance Midas and instigated the attack that caused our European Champion to be absent. T-Block called Lance out and demanded a match with him, even risking losing the European Title to coax him out from under his rock. The Golden One accepted the challenge and proceeded to show T-Block why you don’t turn your back, as when he did he launched another attack looking to get one over on T-Block. All thoughts and plans seemed to do no justice for Lance Midas. He seemed to come unprepared, maybe expecting T-Block to still be injured from the attack, but T-Block took the pain to Lance and left with a clear conscious and the European Title. Since winning the BattleBowl in February 2009 Lance is hungry for a taste of singles gold. What will he do to get to the top and who will he take out to get there?
With Halloween Hell in full swing now it was time for the two big matches. First up The Red Bull was putting his World Heavyweight Championship on the line against one half of 5 star rating, Pezmo. After only just winning the Tag Team Championships at pier Pressure Pezmo was ready for more gold around his waist. Bringing AMD with him to ringside Taurian had the odds stacked against him. The two went into the match heavily and it wasn’t long before the numbers game started to play a part with Pezmo distracting the ref while AMD attacked The Red Bull. The duo continued in their ways throughout the match but Taurian held his own and nailed the Bullseye from out of nowhere leaving Pezmo unable respond to the refs 3 count. The Bullseye is proving to be Taurian’s strong ally and definitely the deciding move in any match. Is anyone going to be able to take The Red Bull by the horns and relieve him of the Championship? Maybe we’ll find out next month at Domestic Violence.
The House of Pain Match, the main event of the night. The Beast was defending his Ultra-Violence championship against U/V madman Xavier, Billy-Bob, Pete Vicious and Gallow. As the skies turned darker outside, the atmosphere seemingly did the same over the ring. This is the JWF’s most gruelling fight, a test of pain threshold and endurance merging into this colossal match. The Beast had successfully defended against all comers month after month. Especially against Xavier who followed the belt everywhere it went, lurking in the shadows until the time was right. Xavier had already fought The Beast many times for the coveted Ultra-Violence Championship and lost every time, my thoughts were that he should move onto a new target as The Beast simply didn’t seem like he was ever going to lose the belt he loved so much, and now there would be three other competitors fighting alongside the two UV maniacs. The match lived up to it’s name as chairs, tables, road signs, chains and even a metal barrier were used as weapons. No body wanted any one eliminated and we saw maybe twenty minutes go before the first could take no more. Pete Vicious went first after a Chokeslam from the top rope through a table put him out of action. Billy-bob followed not long after and Xavier proceeded to finish off Gallow, leaving the two UV specialists who probably knew each others move set inside out by now in the ring ready for war. It wasn’t long before the end seemed imminent for Xavier. Beast had stacked chairs on top of a table ready to put Xavier through. Xavier had this scouted though, and as Beast climbed the turnbuckles, presumably setting up for a Moonsault Xavier clocked him on the back, ducking underneath and Powerbombing Beast thought the table. Xavier crawled to the cover and the ref slapped the canvas three times giving the JWF a new Ultra-Violence Champion.
Halloween Hell lived up to its name a previous character and the JWF is going from strength to strength. As we roll towards the end of the year one thing must now be entering the wrestler’s minds… BattleBowl 2010.
How focused are the guys for one of the JWFs biggest events and how will it affect them through Domestic Violence in November.
Also at the next event, the return of the EuroStar Tournament, where one person will leave as the 2nd EuroStar Champion and earn themselves a shot at the European Championship at any time.
As the cold weather rolls in, things in the JWF are just warming up!
